Centred axis
Headings, text and actions on one centre line. Gives one point of entry and a calm, formal order.
Good for: Openings with one message, pricing, closing calls to action.
Weak for: Long text, which is hard to read centred; lists and forms.
Centred at every width; only short text should follow the axis.
The look, in Stylogeny
- Central symmetry: Elements mirrored around a central axis; formal and stable.
- Single focal point: One unmistakable point of entry.
Parts that show it
How it is found
In a wireframe: A centred stack holding a heading.
On a real page: At 1280 px, at least three headings narrower than 60% of the width, alone on their row (not the middle card of a row), centred on the page and of different widths. Centred boxes of one width may be a centred column with left-aligned text, so then it can’t tell; with fewer than three narrow headings too.
